Press Release - CityMusic Cleveland “Rediscovers” Classics in March Orchestra SeriesFeaturing Guest Conductor Annunziata Tomaro

CityMusic Cleveland is excited to introduce their guest conductor, Annunziata Tomaro, and concertmaster Laura Hamilton, who will be featured in their March Orchestra Series, Rediscovered Classics. These performances are set to mesmerize audiences with a contemporary take on Vivaldi's Four Seasons, while still retaining the original essence of the piece. While Beethoven's Symphony No. 2 may not be as well-known as his other works, they guarantee an unforgettable experience as they bring this classic to life and rediscover its beauty.

Tomaro is a highly skilled music director and conductor who has collaborated with a multitude of renowned artists and ensembles. She possesses extensive experience in conducting symphonic and operatic works and has championed the works of new and promising composers. Her exceptional abilities have earned her multiple accolades, including the Robinson Award, the Presser Award, and a prestigious "Outstanding Woman Conductor" grant by the League of American Orchestras.

Hamilton first performed as the guest concertmaster for Verdi's Requiem with CityMusic in May 2019, commemorating Yom ha-Sho’ah. With over 30 years of experience as the Principal Associate Concertmaster for the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, Hamilton has honed her skills to perfection. She is currently the Interim Artistic Director and Concertmaster for Classical Tahoe in Nevada, and also a distinguished faculty member at NYU. Since 2022, Hamilton has been the official concertmaster for CityMusic, bringing her exceptional talent and passion to every performance.
